Funding for afterschool programs in Minnesota is in danger of severe cuts! President’s Trumps proposed funding zeroes out the $1.3 Billion that supports youth through afterschool programming through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC).
This link makes it SO EASY to reach out to your legislators. What’s at stake? Currently, 110 afterschool centers serve over 15,000 young people from Bemidji to Rochester and the Twin Cities to Hendricks. 21st CCLC is the largest source of funding for afterschool in Minnesota.
The West Side neighborhood has a 21st Century grant that serves over 500 youth at many different West Side Schools and community based organizations.
All of these programs would be eliminated under President Trump’s proposed budget.
Remember, only Congress can pass a budget.
Please let your legislators how important these resources are to our community.
