Current initiatives

West Side Rising – Stryker Avenue

In collaboration with Saint Paul’s Ward 2 Office, Saint Paul’s Planning and Economic Development department staff, and Neighborhood Development Alliance, WSCO has began a corridor study of Stryker Avenue between Morton and Winifred Streets to learn more about

  • Vacant commercial spaces conditions & ownership
  • Retail & service interests of nearby residents
  • Infrastructure and other street improvements
  • Zoning changes or other ways to catalyze development

Our first step was working with a graduate research intern from CURA in summer 2016. They produced the following presentation and report, compiling data from residents, calls with property owners, and current zoning and land use on Stryker Avenue

We continued gathering input from West Siders about what Stryker Avenue needs at our annual meeting (November 2016) too. ¬†We’ll have final engagement report ready in February 2017!
