West Side Farmer’s Market

Saturday Mornings from 9 am to Noon at the  ICY CUP on the corner of Stryker and George

The West Side Market is being started primarily as a fresh local produce/food market with plans to expand to include arts and crafts.  They are starting small but expect to grow and

They need help to…

  • Track happenings at the Market and post weekly email bulletins updating the Neighborhood.
  • Creatively spread the word in ways other than email –  flyers, posters etc. – to make sure ALL on the West Side are aware of the Market
  • Possibly start and maintain a Facebook page.
  • Schedule music to occasionally play at the market (we have lots of West Side Bands to highlight!)
  • Help find people to sit at the Community Table to pass out community info on local organizations, gardens, happenings…
  • They also need vegetable vendors.  IF you have extra produce from your garden consider coming to the market Saturday mornings and selling it.

If any one has an interest in working to build the West Side Farmers Market please contact:

If you are interested in selling arts and crafts in the future at the market, please contact Jeannie at

Volunteers Needed

Get a one day event pass for free AND help the environment.  Sounds pretty great, right?

Live Nation Entertainment and the City of Saint Paul are hosting River’s Edge Music Festival, a two-day event showcasing more than 30 artists on June 23 and 24 at historic Harriet Island.  The festival headliners are TOOL and the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND.

River’s Edge is striving to ensure the incredible musical experience is only enhanced by its sustainability efforts before, during, and after the show. To do its part, the festival is offering comprehensive recycling efforts, food composting, water hydration stations, ride share to support carpooling, bicycle valet stations, shuttles to the island, and an area designed solely to engage music fans in diverse environmental and communal not-for-profit organizations.

WSCO is working to find 125 volunteers to staff these sustainability efforts.  There will be morning and afternoon shifts each day from 10am to 3pm and from 3pm to 8pm.

Sign up is first come first serve, but preference will be given to West Siders living in the 55107 zip code.  The deadline for signing up is May 23rd.  Spots will fill up fast.  When we meet our quota, we’ll send out an email with more information.  If you miss out and we do not have any volunteer spots still available, you will be added to our waiting list.

Thank you for your interest and support.  For more information, email Elena Gaarder  Please no phone calls.
